The Cold War
The World War II was finally over. People were exhausted. The countries were damaged. Everybody wanted a rest from the time full of tension and a fear.
After the war there were two superpowers in the world - the United States and the Soviet Union. They fought together against Germany and became Allies. Logic says that their relationship would be warm and friendly after that. But the truth was different.
Even when these two countries had the same goal during the war after it everything changed. The Cold War began. However, there was no using of weapons but both sides distrusted the other.
So this was the scene after the war ended in 1945. There was a race between the superpowers and their governments for many decades. How come?
There were many differences between those two countries. One had a vast army in the field (the Soviet Union with its Red Army) while the other, the Americans had the most powerful weapon in the world, the A-bomb and the Soviets had no way on knowing how many America had. Also the US was capitalist country while the USSR had the communist government.
The world was in the struggle once again. Each country wanted to be better than the other and finally gain the power.
